We are all waiting for the eight and final season of Game of Thrones, aren’t we?
The debut is now official: April 14th and we are thrilled about that!! In the meantime, we have been graced by HBO with the first official Teaser and the first official footage!
Dragonstone
The first official Season 8 Teaser, called “Dragonstone“, is quite short, but it is also somewhat very revealing: we see the Painted Table, a table shaped in the map of Westeros at Dragonstone, going through some major changes. As ice creeps down the map, enveloping both a dragon and a wolf figurine, fire encroaches up from the south, burning the lion figurine sitting at the capital. This seems to show that the fates of Jon and Daenerys and Cersei and Jaime are not going to be very merry, but it is GoT baby, do you really expect a Disney-style happy ending? We don’t.

The first official Teaser

On the other hand, the first official footage has been unveiled during the 76th Golden Globes night. It is likely to be part of the very first episode of the final season.
The clip teases a long-awaited meeting: Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen’s arrival in Winterfell, and Dany’s first face-to-face encounter with Sansa Stark. The face-off looks tense, to say the least. “Winterfell is yours, your grace,” Sansa tells Dany, and she doesn’t look too happy about it. Brienne of Tarth, guarding Lady Stark, and Ser Jorah Mormont, accompanying his Khaleesi, also make appearances.
The Prequel
But fear not, because you won’t feel abandoned for long after GoTs’ ending: HBO’s Game of Thrones Prequel pilot is indeed keeping growing, adding a slew of new actors to the cast members already confirmed Naomi Watts (Gypsy) and Josh Whitehouse (Poldark).
The still-untitled project is set a long while before the events of the original series and “chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour”; it also has indeed recruited Toby Regbo, the never-forgotten king Francis from Reign, Ivanno Jeremiah from Humans and Georgie Henley from The Chronicles of Narnia movies, as series regulars. Also joining the cast as series regulars are: Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough (The Falls), Jamie Campbell Bower (Will), Sheila Atim (Harlots) and Alex Sharp.
No character details are available so far, except for Watts who, we know, will play a charming socialite with a dark secret.
